Those who are for confidential treatment say that without such programs the doctors are more likely to be pressured into practicing intoxicated because they will try to hide their addiction from people.

They say that without confidentiality they will not enter the treatment program. They will not want their addiction to be discovered, and that is where there is danger. Because if they never get help then they will end up putting people at risk.

Then things would get worse for the doctors because they would never get treatment. And then things would get worse for the patients who would not have a chance to be treated by a doctor in recovery but more likely a doctor actually under the influence.

It is the experts in addictions who favor the confidential treatment program. People like addictions counselors say that without treatment the addictions are more likely to spiral out of control, and the doctors more likely to practice while intoxicated.

Also the American Medical Association advocates confidential treatment. Nevertheless, those who oppose it cite the vulnerability people have who trust doctors with their health and often with their lives.

When you are sealed God will empower you to overcome addictions. It may not happen immediately and it may not happen overnight. It is a lifelong process--a journey and not a destination.

God will show you how to take care of your health, and overcoming addiction is one way you will begin to take care of yourself. And God will completely change you.

My favorite healthy chocolate snack dessert is: put halves of pecans on a cookie sheet, spread with waxed paper, in a single layer; melt a bar of at least 70% dark chocolate in a double boiler, then drizzle the melted chocolate over the pecans. Depending on how many pecans you are using is how much chocolate you melt. Then I put the cookie sheet in the refrigerator for a little while to set the chocolate. They are a chocolate nut delight.

Did you know that eating 30 calories per day of dark chocolate may lower high blood pressure, it is a good idea to keep it limited to small portions as it is candy and it could blow your diet, just a little goes a long way.

Another thing to know is that the health benefits do not include milk chocolate or white chocolate, and you also need to watch the sugar content. TV Tied to Obesity and Worse in Kids by Jason Witt

The December 2007 issue of the American Journal of Preventive Medicine published a study showing that watching a lot of TV is linked to higher blood pressure in obese children.

And watching a lot of television is linked to obesity too, which causes the higher blood pressure. Children who watch a lot of television are not getting enough exercise.

In addition they may be eating junk food, another health risk. They may be eating fatty and salty food that is known to increase blood pressure. They are eating more but not getting more exercise to burn those calories.

The study looked at 546 children from age 4 to age 17. Each of these children was obese and nearly half of them had high blood pressure as a result of their obesity.

The study found that the more obese the children were, the more television they watched. There was a direct link there. Also not surprisingly most of the kids with high blood pressure watched over 2 hours of TV a day.

And obese children watching 2 to 4 hours of TV a day had a 2.5 times greater risk of high blood pressure than those who watched less TV. This risk was raised to more than 3 times that of others when they watched more than 4 hours of TV a day.

Indeed television is considered a stressor. Psychological stress is increased from television watching, and is considered a possibility in the raising of the blood pressure of the obese kids.

Psychological stress from watching TV can affect a child in many ways, especially as years of TV-watching pass. Stress can change how body fat accumulates on their bodies and how it is distributed.

And psychological stress directly affects blood pressure. Those are immediate results. The stress is perceived; it does not come from within but from their perception.

The researchers of the study advise limiting the time children can watch TV to under 2 hours a day. God's advice? Watching TV even for a few minutes every day is too much.

The psychological stress experienced from watching television wars against the Peace of God, and when children watch too much TV throughout their lives they never have a chance to experience the Peace of God as they grow older.

And TV will impact you and your children more than robbing you of peace. Television tends to promote the natural person and war against the spiritual person. It is a weapon of the enemy in your spiritual war, and watching TV is surrendering.

Psychologists agree that the brain is the primary sexual organ. All sex begins in the mind; the act itself is just mechanics. Brain rules mind, and the chemistry of sex is imperative but not rational. Knowing that, we can see how important it is for two individuals to understand one another's needs and prejudices when it comes to actually having safe sex.

Some say having safe sex on the first date is wrong. This is a relativistic comparison. If you met for coffee, and spent the next twelve hours talking about your beliefs, your goals, and - equally as important - what constitutes a good sexual relationship, you may well be ready for safe sex, but not without a condom. A condom is not a sign of mistrust, but an acknowledgement that life is full of surprises, and - while both of you may be ready for intimacy, neither of you is quite ready to contract and STD or care for an unexpected child.

You might think you know everything about that other person. In fact, that person may not be aware that he (or she) has an STD. One in four HIV carriers is unaware they have the disease, and may not manifest distinctive HIV symptoms for 8 or 9 years after contracting the illness. It is nonetheless contagious without a condom, and spreads via oral sex almost as easily as via actual penetration. The same is true for syphilis in females; some women have no symptoms, but can readily pass the disease on to their partners if no condom is used. The herpes virus is always contagious, even when no symptoms are present, and the use of a condom is mandatory. Safe sex practices, and concern for the person you may want to spend the rest of your life with, demand you use a condom on the first date and practice safe sex, because neither of you can be absolutely certain how much you are sharing, and what effect it may have on your lives, either individually or jointly.

Safe sex depends on trust and understanding. Just as you can't trust what you don't know, you can't understand unless you talk, and safe sex is a supremely difficult subject. Married couples have difficulty talking about it; imagine how hard it is for two people to talk about safe sex who have just met.

The important thing is to be honest about safe sex and your sexuality. If you are a woman, be sure the new man in your life understands your unique prejudices towards safe sex and sex practices. If, for example, you are willing to engage in oral sex - but not just yet - make sure he understands that you need time. By the time you come to your senses, the damage will be done, and the relationship that might have evolved into something truly special will be spoiled for both of you.

Talk about what you are going to do before you do it, but talk about safe sex honestly. Admit your fears and concerns. If you want to make a great impression, save it for that job interview; this person needs to know who you really are today, not who you want to be tomorrow. Build trust, but always bring a condom and always practice safe sex.

Keeping it simple, the advice is to keep your chips to a gentle golden yellow, and your toast to the lightest shade acceptable. Oregano Is More Than a Kitchen Herb by Darrell Miller

Oregano can be used for many things other than just a kitchen herb, and its medicinal uses are well documented in both Chinese and Western medicine. Before looking at the medicinal uses, however, a quick review of the herb itself and the active ingredients, will provide some of the theoretical information needed to understand these uses.

Oregano is also called pot marjoram, and is native to Europe; mainly the Mediterranean areas of Southern Europe, and also to central and southern Asia. It can be grown in most temperate climates and has a place in most herb gardens in the western world. Like many such plants, it is high in flavonoids that are well known for their antioxidant properties. It also possesses antibacterial properties that render the herb useful in the preservation of foods.

Used by the Chinese in the treatment of gastric problems, jaundice, vomiting and fever, oregano also contains the monoterpene phenol known as thymol that has strong antiseptic properties, and its isomer, carvacrol, another antibiotic that acts synergistically with thymol to increase the antibacterial effect of both. The ingredients of oregano oil are very similar to those found in thyme, which is used medicinally for much the same type of conditions as oregano.

Oregano extracts have been used for centuries to treat a variety of conditions such as those above that can be caused by microbial action, and also other conditions relating to the digestive, respiratory and immune systems. The overuse of prescription drugs for fairly common respiratory and digestive problems has resulted in the over-prescription of antibiotics. People tend to rush to their doctors at the first signs of a cough or a sneeze, and in the current litigious society, the physicians are loathe telling their patients the truth: that they are overreacting, and that they do not require antibiotics for their treatment.

Should the patient's condition worsen the doctors find themselves at the receiving end of a massive claim for damages because the patient has had to take a few more days of work than they should have. Perhaps a slight exaggeration, but there is no doubt whatsoever that certain medications are being prescribed when there is no need, simply so that the physician cannot be accused of making the wrong call and the resultant financial cost that would ensue.

This could explain some of its curative effects for many gastrointestinal conditions.

It will not kill off all bacteria or parasites, but you will have a better chance of overcoming the bacteria by using it than if you didn't try it.

Oregano is definitely more than a kitchen herb, and in fact it probably has more medicinal uses that culinary ones. Although you should seek the advice of your physician if you are pregnant, there are few side effects and it is well worth trying if you are finding it difficult to throw off your condition or infection. The first ever pioneer, modern brand of condom in use by modern society is Germany's Fromm's Act. The brand was started in 1912 when German manufacturer and innovator Julius Fromm developed a modern manufacturing process that would make condoms attractive and usable. Long before Fromm entered into the scene, historians and researchers assert that the use of condoms probably has been in place for close to 3,000 years already. A ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics show a figure of an Egyptian male wearing a device around the penis to help prevent pregnancy during intercourse. Up to now, historians are still debating on whether the condom was used by the Egyptian for ritual purposes.

In Italy during the 16th century, scientist Gabriele Fallopio recommended using cloth sheaths as contraceptives. The sheaths needed to be soaked in a chemical solution before being dried and worn during an intimate intercourse. The account of Mr. Fallopio is the first known description ever published about the use of condoms for disease prevention and contraception.

The oldest and most ancient form of condoms ever found was discovered in England, in the Dudley Castle. The old condom was made up of animal intestine.
